"والشهادة على مراتب: منها الشهادة في الزنا يعتبر فيها أربعة من الرجال" لقوله تعالى: ﴿وَاللاَّتِي يَأْتِينَ الْفَاحِشَةَ مِنْ نِسَائِكُمْ فَاسْتَشْهِدُوا عَلَيْهِنَّ أَرْبَعَةً مِنْكُمْ﴾ ولقوله تعالى: ﴿ثُمَّ لَمْ يَأْتُوا بِأَرْبَعَةِ شُهَدَاءَ﴾
