(والتيمم مبيح) للصلاة، ونحوها، و (لا يرفع الحدث) لقوله - صلى الله عليه وسلم - في حديث أبي ذر:"فإذا وجدت الماءَ فأمسّهُ جلدَكَ، فإنه خيرٌ لكَ" صححه الترمذي.

ولو رفع الحدث لم يحتج إلى الماء إذا وجده.
