(ولا يكره تسميتها بالعتمة) لقول عائشة: "كانوا يصلون العتمة فيما بين أن يغيبَ الشفقُ إلى ثلثِ الليلِ" رواه البخاري .

والعتمة في اللغة: شدة الظلمة. والأفضل أن تسمى العشاء، قاله في "المبدع".
