(وتشمِّت المرأةُ المرأةَ، و) يشمِّت (الرجلُ الرجلَ. و) يشمِّت الرجل (المرأة العجوز البرزة) لأمن الفتنة (ولا يشمِّت الشابة، ولا تشمِّته) كما في ردِّ السلام، ولعل المراد الأجنبية.
