(فالجِزية) مأخوذة من الجزاء (مال يؤخذ منهم على وجه الصَّغار) بفتح الصاد المهملة، أي: الذِّلة والامتهان (كلَّ عامٍ، بدلًا عن قتلهم وإقامتهم بدارنا) فإنهم لو لم يبذلوها، لم يكفَّ عنهم.
