(والعِترة: العشيرة، وهي) أي: العشيرة (قبيلته) قال الصديق - رضي الله عنه - في محفل من الصحابة: "نحن عِتْرَةُ رسول الله - صلى الله عليه وسلم - وبَيْضتُهُ التي تَفَقَّأت عنهُ" ولم ينكره أحد، وهم أهل اللسان
