(ويستحب أن يكون متطهرًا من الحدثين) الأصغر، والأكبر، لقوله - صلى الله عليه وسلم -: "لا يؤذنُ إلا متوضئٌ" رواه الترمذي، والبيهقي مرفوعًا، من حديث أبي هريرة، وموقوفًا عليه، وقالا: هو أصح.

وحكم الإقامة كذلك.

وفي "الرعاية": يسن أن يؤذن متطهرًا من نجاسة بدنه، وثوبه.
