كتاب الجنايات [كتاب الجنايات] (وهي: جمع جناية، وهي) لغة: التعدي على بدن أو مال.

وشرعًا: (التعدي على الأبدان بما يوجب قِصاصًا، أو غيرَه) أي: مالًا أو كفَّارة. وسَمَّوا الجناية على الأموال: غصبًا، ونهبًا، وسرقة، وخيانة، وإتلافًا.
