(وإن استنظروه) أي: طَلَبَ البُغاةُ منه أن يُنظِرهم (مُدَّة، رجاء رُجُوعِهم فيها، أنظَرَهم) حكاه ابن المنذر إجماع من يُحْفَظُ عنه ؛ لأن الإنظار إذًا أولى من معالجتهم بالقتال المؤدي إلى الهرج والمرج.
