النهر الفائق'Umar Ibn Nujaym

(والسحور) أي: التسحر الأكل (فيه) أي: في نصف الليل (إلى) طلوع (الفجر) لأن إن لبست، أو أكلت أو شربت، ونوى معينا لم يصدق أصلا ولو زاد ثوابا، أو طعاما، أو شرابا دين لا يشرب من دجلة.

السحر لما كان من الثلث الأخير سمي ما يؤكل في النصف الثاني لقربه منه سحورا بفتح السين والأكل فيه سحور،
