(والمرهون: كلُّ عينٍ معلومةٍ جُعلت وثيقةً بحق يمكن استيفاؤه منها) إن كانت من جنسه (أو من ثمنها) إن لم تكن من جنسه، وكثيرًا ما يُطلق الرهن ويراد به المرهون، من إطلاق المصدر على اسم المفعول.
