(وإن اختار) الغلام (أُمه، كان عندها ليلًا) لأنه وقت السكن، وانحياز الرجال إلى المنازل (و) يكون (عند أبيه نهارًا؛ ليعلّمه الصناعة والكتابة ويؤدّبه) لأن ذلك هو القصد في حظ الولد.
