(ولا يُغفِل الحرسَ والطلائعَ) لئلا يأخذهم العدو بغتة، والطلائع: جمع طليعة، وهي: من يُبعث ليطَّلع طِلْعَ العدو. قاله الجوهري قال: والطّلع - بالكسر - الاسم من الاطلاع؛ تقول منه: اطَّلِعْ طِلْعَ العدو.
