" وَإِنْ اسْتَمْهَلَ " الْخَصْمُ أَيْ طَلَبَ الْإِمْهَالَ " فِي ابْتِدَاءِ الْجَوَابِ لِذَلِكَ " أَيْ لِعُذْرٍ " أُمْهِلَ إلَى آخِرِ الْمَجْلِسِ " بِقَيْدٍ زِدْته بِقَوْلِي "إنْ شَاءَ" أَيْ الْمُدَّعِي أَوْ الْقَاضِي وَعَلَى الثَّانِي جَرَى جَمَاعَةٌ وَتَبِعْتهمْ فِي شَرْحِ الْبَهْجَةِ
