In Ibn Rushd’s wordsوَسَبَبُ اخْتِلَافِهِمْ فِي هَاتَيْنِ الْمَسْأَلَتَيْنِ: هُوَ خَفَاءُ تَنَاوُلِ اسْمِ الْوَجْهِ لِهَذَيْنِ الْمَوْضِعَيْنِ أَعْنِي: هَلْ يَتَنَاوَلُهُمَا أَوْ لَا يَتَنَاوَلُهُمَا؟
The texts
مسألة: إمرار الماء على المسترسل من شعر اللحية واجب على الظاهر من المذهب، لقوله تعالى: {فاغسلوا وجوهكم} . فالاسم للعضو وما اتصل به من الخلقة، ولأنها شعر نابت على عضو يلزم تطهيره، فأشبه ما لم يسترسل.
